Beconase AQ

Beconase is a nasal spray that is used to relieve congestion of the sinus cavities. The easiest comparison that one may make between Beconase nasal spray and a similar kind of product on the market in the United States is Nasonex vs. Beconase. One often sees Nasonex compared to Beconase because they are very similar types of products; Beconase AQ is taken using a Beconase inhaler, and it is yet another kind of corticosteroid nasal spray which is used to prevent sinusitis as well as allergy symptoms in the category of rhinitus (hayfever). Beconase AQ nasal spray is usually taken twice a day with two sprays into each nostril. It is sold by the GlaxoSmithKline company and the active ingredient in Beconase AQ is Beclometasone dipropionate.

Beclometasone dipropionate is used in a number of different inhaler based drugs as well as in Beconase AQ. This drug is sometime used in cream form to treat skin disorders which are inflammatory and which cannot be easily treated using less powerful steroids; for example, certain kinds of eczema are treated using the active ingredient of Beconase AQ. Corticosteroids are sometimes used to treat psoriasis, but generally Beclometasone dipropionate is not used in this situation because it is possible for the symptoms to rebound when the use of Beclometasone dipropionate is discontinued.

Beconase side effects are often as simple as a cough as a result of inhalation. There are other kinds of common side effects, however. Beconase and atrial fibrillation are one of the more outside probabilities when it comes to Beconase AQ side effects; more likely side effects include oral candidiasis, a yeast infection of the inside of the mouth which produces a kind of white coating, allergic reactions, hoarseness or nasal congestion, visual changes, pain or headache, and an unpleasant taste. While some of these side effects of Beconase AQ can be serious it is unlikely that any of them will bring about long term damage as long as they are recognized and treated swiftly, so it is generally found to be safe to use this nasal spray. Still, Beconase AQ is a prescription only drug, and you should only go onto a program of using Beconase AQ if you are doing so under the direction of your personal physician and know that it will not have an adverse health effect in combination with the other drugs that you may currently be taking and with other health conditions that you may have.
