Fioricet

Fioricet is a combination drug made up of three common drugs: acetaminophen, caffeine, and butalbital. Fioricet is commonly prescribed to treat tension headaches. Fioricet with codeine is also available. Generic Fioricet is also available.

Side effects of Fioricet may include drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation. More serious side effects such as low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), jaundice (yellowing of the skin), and easy bruising or bleeding may occur, and require medical attention right away. Any allergic reactions to Fioricet should also be treated immediately. Fioricet is a class "C" drug, so women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take it. Notify your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Fioricet, as your baby may be born addicted if you take Fioricet throughout your pregnancy. Anyone with kidney or liver disease may not be able to take Fioricet, and all medical conditions should be discussed with your doctor prior to treatment. Some drugs such as sedatives or blood thinners may interact badly with Fioricet, so it is important that your doctor is aware of all prescription and over the counter medications and supplements that you are taking, to avoid such interactions. Do not use alcohol or any medications that could make you drowsy while taking Fioricet. You must not take any other drug containing any of the components of Fioricet, to avoid accidental overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include abdominal pain, seizures, or irregular heartbeat. Patients who take an overdose of any component of Fioricet must be treated right away. Elderly patients should be monitored closely for signs of renal failure, as they are more likely to experience this side effect than younger patients.

Fioricet should never be taken without a doctor's supervision. The butalbital in Fioricet is a barbiturate, which makes Fioricet addiction very likely to happen. Do not take Fioricet for longer than your doctor recommends, but also do not stop taking Fioricet without discussing it with your doctor. He or she may want to have you gradually reduce your dosage, to avoid Fioricet withdrawal symptoms. You should never buy Fioricet without a prescription. If you are unable to obtain it at your local pharmacy, there are many reputable sources to buy Fioricet online. Some of these sites offer Fioricet with overnight delivery or next day delivery. You should compare Fioricet prices in order to find the cheapest price available, but be sure to only buy from sites that require a prescription, so that you know the site is reputable.
