Yasmin is an oral contraceptive, which includes the ingredient Drospirenone. Yasmin may be sold by its brand name or as Drospirenone/Ethinyl Estradiol tablets, the generic name for Yasmin birth control. Yasmin is combination of estrogen and progestin that works to prevent the release of eggs from the ovaries. More serious side effects to look out for include breast lumps, facial swelling, coughing up blood, dizziness or fainting, missed periods, persistent bleeding past 2 weeks on, and severe pain.
